The 2018 EcoSport recently debuted at the LA Auto Show, unveiling a compact SUV that’s been designed for a life of possibilities. It’s fun, capable and connected, offering what you need when you need it.
The trim, athletic profile shows off how nimble the EcoSport is, with an emphasis on aerodynamic performance. One thing buyers should definitely be aware of: the tailgate opens sideways, rather than up, so they’ll want to make sure they have clearance before loading and unloading the cargo area.
Inside, the EcoSport accommodates with comfort and loads of head room and leg room, even in the rear seats. And there are plenty of storage options tucked away, including a shelf above the glove box that holds phones and other small items, as well as a dedicated slot for the owner’s manual in the glove box itself. The floor in the cargo area can be adjusted up to lie flush with the hatch, providing a great hiding space for small bags and backpacks underneath.
Naturally, there are lots of tech features included. The standard four-inch infotainment screen “floats” on top of the dash (there will be six- and eight-inch upgrades available), and available Sync® 3 is compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. There are two fast-charging USB ports and a 12-volt power point in the center console, as well as a 12-volt power point in the rear seat (110-volt outlet is available for order). Complete your entertainment package with the available 675-watt B&O Play stereo system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer.
Ford expects the 2018 EcoSport to be available in early 2018.
