Last month, we blogged about the glowing review Cars.com gave the 2017 Escape for its ease of installing car seats. Whether you have an infant in a rear-facing seat, or a tween in a booster, the 2017 Ford Escape earned A grades from Cars.com.

Now the only question is, how are your car seats rated?

When it comes to booster seats, not all models deliver the same life-saving performance. Booster seats only have one job: make your vehicle's seat belts fit your child properly. However, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluated many booster seat models, and found that some did not do the one thing they were supposed to. The safety belts still fit poorly.

Before you invest in a booster seat, check the IIHS booster seat ratings, and be sure your vehicle's seat belts fit correctly—across the lap, not the stomach, and over the shoulder, never the neck.
